"My daughter is in final year in the university and her elder brother is working. My young son is full of life like any young man. His boss recently opened a hotel and invited them to attend the night party. It was already late and I pleaded with him to use the public transport and not drive. But he insisted on driving. He had an accident and the 2 front tyres of his car got damaged. I am happy no harm came to him. But I have told him not to drive that car for now. But he won't agree. The blood of young people is always hot, they want to do things their own way. To have trained him with this plantain business gives me so much joy. He says; 'Mummy you worry alot, calm down abeg'. But what can I do if not to worry about his safety? I will keep praying for him to be safe, he is a bright young man with so much to offer our society. Sometimes, you can live your dreams through your kids, and it is a good thing too.""My daughter is in final year in the university and her elder brother is working. In this days in my country sudan there is a revolution of people against the government Revolution of the people on the government. President of Sudan ruled the country for thirty years and led Sudan to famine and corruption in the state institutions, but people were patient on all this until the situation reached the lack of bread from the furnaces, you had to stand for hours to get bread as well as lack of fuel for cars and go public money in the pockets of government officials The citizen ... Citizens came out of the houses because of the tightness of the situation to express their opinion and hate them only but the security service and the police killed citizens who carry with them only their votes killed a doctor shot dead a student at the medical school beaten to death and a school professor what I mean that those who are killed are not criminals they elite elite Touma I am sad about the way the officials in the state look at us as if we are slaves and they are masters and not state employees. It is their duty to serve the country. I would like to say that Sudan is not a poor country. I love sudan .. I love my people ... l love my country .... #تسقط _ بس ...Hi name is ahmed .for sure i am not from new york or amirca .i am from sudan its afican country i like this page people talk about important things so i wont to talk if there something care about my story ... “My dad came to America in the 90’s. He worked at one of those stalls on 34th street selling ‘I Love New York’ t-shirts and plastic Statues of Liberty. One of his coworkers had a sister back in Bangladesh-- which was my mom. The whole thing was arranged over the phone. Even the wedding was done over the phone. Everyone was on the line: my grandparents, my uncles, the Islamic priest. My parents didn’t even meet in person until five months after the wedding. I’m the oldest child in our extended family. Plus I’m the first one to grow up in America, so everyone is watching me. I’m like the lab rat for the American Dream. I was initially told that I was going to be a doctor. One of my earliest memories is sitting in my SpongeBob chair, practicing my numbers and letters. In first grade my parents hired my kindergarten teacher to tutor me after school. My mother would actually negotiate with my teachers during parent-teacher conferences. When I didn’t have a perfect grade in 5th grade science, she convinced my teacher to let me build a baking soda volcano for extra credit. We didn’t have food coloring so we used Bengali spices for the lava. Right now I’m in my first year of college. My parents have let go of the doctor thing. I think they trust me now because they’ve seen me accomplish a lot of things. But I still feel a lot of pressure. A lot of people are watching me back in Bangladesh. The sense of family is so big there. If one person gets lifted up, everyone gets lifted up. So everyone wants me to do well. And I want to do well for them.”“My dad came to America in the 90’s.
